If you want to spend less, always compare the price of the store brand vs. the national brand!
Look at the Kroger brand Cream of Mushroom soup in the picture below. The 10.5 oz can sells for $.99 at regular price, but is on sale for $.89.

Now, compare that price to the price of Campbell’s mushroom soup (the national brand). The regular price for Campbell’s is $1.39.
The Kroger brand is 40 cents cheaper when you compare the regular prices. When I took this picture, the Kroger brand was on sale making it 50 cents cheaper than the Campbell’s.
I know that some people think that store brands couldn’t possibly be as good as the national brands, but I’ve tried both of these soups. I couldn’t tell any difference! So, if the store brand costs less, give it a try!
One last thing: I’m not saying that the store brand will always be cheaper! If the national brand is on sale and/or you have coupons, the national brand could possibly be cheaper than the store brand. In fact, I buy the national brand more often than the store brand. So be sure to always compare the prices to find the best deal!
